Welcome

Welcome to Carlisle Infant School. We are delighted that you have taken the time to visit our site and find out more about our lovely school. Our school ethos is ‘love learning and love life.’ I am proud to lead a team of staff who are passionate about ensuring we provide an inclusive, engaging learning environment and a curriculum designed to meet the needs of the children in our community.

Carlisle is a popular, nuturing three form entry infant school federated with Hampton Hill Junior School. The two schools work closely together to ensure that there is continuity and consistency in our approach to teaching and learning and clear progression as pupils move on to the next stage in their learning.

We challenge our children to be the best they can be, in all aspects of school life and have high expectations for learning and for behaviour. We ensure that skills and knowledge are developed not just in curriculum subjects but also in our learning behaviours and in social skills. Being kind to others, having resilience and perseverance, and being able to communicate effectively are skills we hope to equip all our children with during their time at Carlisle.

At Carlisle Infant School, we aim to provide learning that is engaging so that children are motivated, challenged and given opportunities to develop their creativity and imagination. Families are encouraged to play an active part in school life, as an effective partnership between home and school will support your child’s learning.

Carlisle is situated close to Bushy Park and our pupils benefit from regular visits to this wonderful outdoor environment. We believe that children learn best when they can be active in their learning, and we are also fortunate to have an extensive outdoor environment on site where children have daily opportunities to develop their skills across the curriculum.

The team at Carlisle is committed to making a real difference to children’s lives by giving them a secure foundation in basic skills, whilst developing their confidence and self-esteem as they start their learning journey.
